August 15th.-18th. 2003 The Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators (S.C.B.W.I) will hold their 32nd. Annual Conference in L.A. and Dilys will doing two workshops, a panel, and portfolio reviews.
AMANDA SHEPHERD joined the portfolio last Fall 2002 and is now working
on her first picture book for Chronicle Books, to be followed by two
picture books for Joanna Cotler, one of which will be author illustrated.
DAVID WIESNER: THE THREE PIGS, published by Clarion Books and a
recipient of the 2002 Caldecott Gold medal has been nominated for
the Deutsche Jurgendliteratupreis 2003 which is the most prestigious
award for children and young adult literature in Germany. The winner
will be announced on October 9th. during the Frankfurt Book Fair.
